both in the classroom and at the McWane Science Center for

workshops designed to extend information and support to the
special education professionals in public schools in the

program proposes to help instructional district-level staff
in two major school districts in Alabama become effective
continuous improvement coaches for schools in their
district. The
objective is to encourage district office staff, principals
and teachers, particularly in lower-performing schools, to
collaborate in a more productive manner to more effectively
meet students’ needs.

freshmen for this Birmingham, Alabama
university.
Preludes Music Enrichment & Strings

class inside the classroom at 3 public elementary schools
and a public high school in Mobile, Alabama through its Preludes Class for grades 1-2 and its

Improving Grades 6-12 Mathematics Education in East
Alabama Using Technology Entity: Auburn University

Date: Jul 2007 Description: Project will provide technological tools and training
to teachers in 15 school districts in East Alabama to
improve mathematics instruction. The project is part
of an overall initiative in East Alabama for Mathematics
instruction known as TEAM-Math

reduce new teacher turnover by establishing a Mentoring
Program for new teachers in all 12 school systems and their
